Mission Bay Scuba – Guest Policies
We are committed to delivering a seamless, high-quality experience for every student. The following policies ensure we can maintain small group sizes, dedicated instruction, and a safe learning environment.
Reservations, Cancellations & Refunds
Your course reservation secures dedicated instructor time, equipment preparation, and limited course availability. For this reason, all bookings include a $400 non-refundable reservation fee.
Should you need to cancel your course:
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours prior to the course start time may receive a refund of any amount paid beyond the $400 reservation fee
- Cancellations within 72 hours of the course start time are non-refundable
- Failure to attend a scheduled course will result in forfeiture of all payments
In the event that your plans change due to weather or circumstances outside of your control, we will work with you to reschedule your experience whenever possible.
Rescheduling Your Course
We understand that plans occasionally shift.
Course rescheduling requests made at least 72 hours in advance are welcome and subject to a $400 rescheduling fee, reflecting the reserved time and resources allocated to your original booking.
Requests made within 72 hours of your course start time will be treated as a cancellation.
If your course is impacted by weather or safety conditions, we will reschedule you at no additional cost.
Note: All courses should be completed within 12 months of the original booking date.
Weather & Ocean Conditions
Ocean conditions are an essential part of the diving experience, and safety is always our highest priority. If conditions are deemed unsuitable due to weather, visibility, or other safety considerations, your course may be adjusted or rescheduled.
All decisions regarding conditions are made with your safety and overall experience in mind.
In these cases:
- You will be offered a new date
- No additional fees will apply
eLearning Preparation
To ensure your in-water experience is smooth, safe, and enjoyable, all participants are required to complete their PADI eLearning in full prior to arrival. This allows us to focus entirely on hands-on training in the water. If eLearning is not completed before the course begins, your session will need to be rescheduled, and a $400 rescheduling fee will apply. We recommend completing your coursework several days in advance to allow time for any questions.
Terms of Participation
By joining Mission Bay Scuba, you agree to the following:
- Participants must meet all PADI medical, swimming, and age requirements
- All required waivers and medical forms must be completed prior to participation
- Students are expected to follow instructor guidance at all times for safety and success
- We reserve the right to discontinue training for any participant whose safety, behavior, or preparedness may impact themselves or others
Our programs are conducted by experienced, independent instructors operating under PADI standards, with a focus on personalized, high-quality instruction. Scuba diving is an adventure activity, and participation acknowledges an understanding of its inherent risks.
